Does the SW E-PDM allow you to code parts, items?

The implementation of an E-PDM in my company requires

Resume or

Create codofication.

To date, the codification is done ingrementing the number found in a Windows directory.

Does the E-PDM offer a coding of parts, articles?

Thank you

The EPDM can take over your existing codification, this will be done when you set it up, continuing your list.

As said by @Lucas it is quite possible.

EPDM can handle different incremental counters that you can reuse for coding (this is a simple part of EPDM administration, by the way). The codification can also be embellished with conditions, variables, etc.

If your example is not a simple increment, you can mail us your need, we will give you more details.

Have a nice day

I was not specific enough in my question.

Knowing that to date commercial items are not codified, I will have to rethink the current coding system.

Can an E-PDM generate a coding system?

Thank you

Kind regards

Philippe

The EPDM does not have a coding system as such. You have to "tell" him (parameterization) what you want for this codification: pure incremental, prefix + incremental, coding by category of commercial parts...

In any case, it is possible to create several meters under EPDM.
