Exporting a model in STEP format with an image: Decal? Texture?

Hello

Is there a way to include the decal image in a template exported in STEP format?

If not, would making this decal a texture allow me to have the image displayed on my model when importing it into another program (an electronic component in SW PCB, in this case)?

Thank you.

Hello

Because of the structure of a STEP file, I would be surprised if this is possible.

On the other hand, a question out of pure curiosity, why do you go through STEP instead of using SldPRT files. Where do your colorized STEP files come from?

Kind regards

Hello Zozo_mp

These are components that I modeled myself in SW.

I tried to use SLDPRTs but for some reason, SW PCB doesn't want them... Yet he is supposed to accept them.

Other compatible format; Parasolid. I haven't tried, but does this format support images?

Hello Sylk

It's weird but there must be an explanation but where????

You will notice the poverty of the online help on the net for PCB.

Kind regards

In my opinion, no export format is capable of taking into account an image file. Because the image itself is already another imported format.

And the export formats are there to export the 3d with possibly the colors but not an image file.
