Thank you, I thought that just like solid, the file could be a part, the second one is a part downloaded on tracepart, but my pb is to be able to open these files in order to save them in step to open them under solid and also to take advantage of the fact that I know topsolid.
I wanted to do a test of a tracepart file in TopSolid format, to check how TopSolid inported the files. But topsild does not open the file from tracepart.
In fact, when I want to open the file "topsolid. TopPrt" from the windows directory I have a message : line of options available on the command line, with options -a, -c and other
All this in order to understand how topsolid works, because I got topsolid files with the topprt extension (which I can't open with topsolid, in order to import them in step format for solidworks).
attached the file, if someone opens it let him tell me the method used
when you say: "Actually when I want to open the file "topsolid. TopPrt" from the windows directory I have a message : line of options available on the command line, with options -a, -c and other"
You try to open the file by double-clicking in windows explorer.
Is the icon of the file really the one of topsolid?
If you first open TopSolid and go through the file/open menu, what happens?
If you open TopSolid and drag the file into the graphics window of the software, does it work?
Have you checked that your software version matches that of your part?
If you want to go through an export format between topsolid and solidworks, use parasolid instead.
It's been a couple of years since I've used Topsolid, but overall CAD software and all software that runs on Windows have equivalent behaviors for opening files.
If you first open Topsolid and go through the file/open menu, what happens?
· I don't have a file/open
It's curious. You should have a file menu (probably at the top left of your window) and an open function in this menu (as in all Windows software)
Is the icon of the file really the one of topsolid?
· No Topsolid icon. despite the extension of the file "XXXX.topprt"
That's because the extension is not attached to the software. You can try right-clicking on the file and choosing "open with". If it doesn't offer you Topsolid, you click on browse and you go look for the launcher of the software.
