Hello
I need to extrude a cladding sheet from its neutral fiber, how would you do it?
Thank you for your help
Fred
Hello
If it's just to have the volume:
Extrusion with thin function in the middle plane.
Good luck...
And then otherwise, from the Sheet Metal module, you check " symmetrical " under Sheet Metal settings
What do you call neutral fiber? The neutral fiber depends on the thickness.
Otherwise, sketch the profile, make an extrusion and then convert to sheet metal.
That said, I don't really see the point since the positioning of the neutral fiber depends on the thickness (K factor)
This is my neutral fiber, and the thickness of my sheet metal is 1mm.
Hello
If the bend radii are known, then it is possible to use the table below:
Inner radius x factor thickness = neutral position of the fibers
0.2 βββββββββββ 0.347 x thickness
0.5 βββββββββββ 0.387 x thickness
1 ββββββββββββ 0.421 x thickness
2 ββββββββββββ 0.451 x thickness
3 ββββββββββββ 0.465 x thickness
4 ββββββββββββ 0.470 x thickness
5 ββββββββββββ 0.478 x thickness
10 βββββββββββ- 0.487 x thickness
Where to use the K-Factor:
0.65>r/t<=1 | k=0.3 |
---|---|
1 | k=0.35 |
1.5 | k=0.4 |
2.4 | k=0.45 |
3.8 | k=0.5 |
If the sketch of the screenshot is indeed the " Neutral Fiber " uses the proposal of @a_eriaud and @Le_Bidule with two dimensioned extrusions (Thin Function + two directions), then transformation of the body obtained into sheet metal... Like what:
Thank you all for your answers.
