Part Family in Assembly

I made an assembly where I created different parts and I would like to be able to set them up using the "part family" tool directly in the assembly.

Thank you for your help.

HELLO

Could you put us a screen print and be more precise? Do you want to have multiple configurations of the assembly with the different parts?

I have already done the different configurations but I was forced to do them on each part. What I would like is to have a board for assembly and not a board for each piece.

Hello

If your assembly is composed of only 2 - 3 pieces maybe it would be easier to make a piece with 2-3 volumes.

Nothing prevents the following for a drawing from making a configuration that isolates each element.

Thank you, but it is not possible to create the same table for different rooms?

And is it possible to use the same column to drive different dimensions in the same room?

From a personal point of view, it's been since SW2009 that I don't use excel tables to configure, I prefer to separate the different "identical" projects, especially since now the size of the hard drive is no longer a brake / constraint, and above all I prefer that it crashes a variant than all the variants. ;)

(SW plant??? nannn not possible :p )

Yes, in a room you can control all dimensions or functions from the table. (for the assembly part I'm less sure but as I don't use this function anymore I can't help you anymore.)

Thank you for your answer but I would have liked to be able to drive several climbs with the same box of the parts family table and I don't know if it's possible.

And yes indeed, but we are trying to create a design basis to be able to use it for each project and for each project an assembly (copy/paste)

In this case, your parts  and or assembly must have an equation system that drives the dimensions in such a way  that you only have 2-3 dimensions in your tables. But be careful that it doesn't become a gas factory .

Which version are you on and can you share your ASM with PRTs so you can take a look?

I'm under SW2022 and on the asm I created the parts inside and now I would like to make a family of parts that drives the 2 on the same board. (I renamed all the ribs useful)

Hello

see if that's what you want to do; I'm under 2020. To modify it is enough to change the values in the custom properties

Hello

No it's not what I'm looking for but thank you anyway, I'll find an alternative solution that will allow me to get around this problem.

Thank you for your help.

Hello

Have you tried to create the part family (automatic creation) for the first item, save this table in excel format and finally the room family (from the file) for the second item?

Jeremy

Hello?

Yes I have already tried and the easiest way is to make a family of parts for the different parts and to create different configurations in the ASM.
