I am looking for configurable files such as IPE, IPN, HEA, HEB for Inventor. Where can I find that? In addition, is it possible to export it in a universal format such as " step ", " iges " and that the file remains configurable in another company that does not have the same software?
When you talk about configurable ipn what are you talking about? Are you talking about Ipièce? or
Normally you have these elements in Inventor normally. But you probably know that.
In STEP or IGES normally not from a software to ours, but if you have made the inventor your step and you open it with inventor it can do function recognition and parts and sub-assembly and it can be modified.
Hello Thank you for the answer. What I am looking for exactly is an IPN.ipt file, an IPE.ipt file, a HEA.ipt file, a HEB.ipt file which are the basis of the Iparts with a table corresponding to the different dimensions of the different profiles on a defined length for example 2500mm. It would have to be a parts file, because " inserting a frame " is only in an assembly. It's something doable but I don't know all the subtleties of the variations of the thicknesses on IPNs more particularly, that's why if there was a ready-made file it would have been convenient for me. Then as for the format, it's precisely to communicate with a company that doesn't have the same software as us, so I was wondering if with a format we could exchange Iparts that remain configurable.
Autodesk does not provide these files?? For the export I'm afraid that the configurable or configurable side will disappear, at least in stp that's for sure. I think you are asking for the impossible here (Christmas is approaching ). Happy quest
@ Not sure I did a test of an Inventor mechanical assembly to a STEP, and from the STEP to inventor, and it recognizes the functions well.
@florentmeunier Be careful with the Iparts, I'm not a fan of the inventor method. You should know that inventor for each part or assembly transformed into Ipièce one creates a folder in your project called the same Ipièce. In this folder he creates one part per configuration, example of a washer: At the beginning in my file I only have one document I create my configurations
I import my different configurations into an assembly,
At this point inventor chooses to create a folder of the part name containing the configurations used.
In the folder are the 3 pieces of my assembly
These 3 pieces actually represent the 3 piece insert, a configuration for each. From a document management point of view, I don't think it's good. If you want to copy or rename one of the sets, be very careful.
Personally and on the advice of the people who work on this software, no Ipiece, we create a block library (autocad style) that we import if necessary more secure and delete, our sets take the used library with us. It's a fairly simple job and as we add to our libraries
