Step file to import

Hello, I'm on SW 2025.
I received a step of which a whole part is not displayed in SW.
in the edrawing viewer and freecad you can see everything correctly but in SW, it doesn't work, could you test it please.

I tried to fiddle with the import settings, but nothing helps.

Thank you

This sometimes happens if in your set 2 different assemblies have the same name.
For example, if in your assembly you have 2 sets named flywheel, the 1st one (in the tree) will open correctly, but the second one will be replaced by the 1st one already open. (Solidworks limitation: only one file with the same name can be opened at a time.)
Check in freecad and if necessary rename the set(s) and then
re-export to step to then open it in SW.
This limitation does not exist in Inventor or other 3D software but causes this kind of problem when importing.

After testing the effectively disastrous result (under SW2023):

Not sure if it comes from a duplicate name but more from an import problem indeed.
On the other hand, on a similar problem, I had managed to parry the thing by going through topsolid and converting it to .x_t that I then reopened in SW.

Maybe tried the same kind of trick by going through freecad.

Thank you for taking the time to watch this.
I tried, from freecad, to export in step, in IFC. but nothing helps.

I have these possible extensions in FreeCAD:

Hello;
By editing the Step with notepad++ we see that the original file is exported from the " Steptools " software (unknown to my battalion)

Try to see with your supplier to get another 3D format, Parasolid would be good.

[a little later]
I tried to import the Step under Solifdworks 2022 ... Well, it's not so bad.

I attach a Parasolid file (in zip)
422116-01-02_MASS D25_251111.zip (21.9 MB)
and a new export in STP if that's useful to you...
422116-01-02_MASS D25_251111_(2022). STEP (160.9 MB)

and for the record, here are my import settings (Solidworks 2022 sp5)

Below is a directory with the assembly is its parts in solidworks 2022 format...

In 2022 nothing to do!! The incomplete result
Under inventor nothing happens!!

On trimble connect it opens well but I can't do anything with this software

When I do an import diagnosis under SolidWorks 2022, it tells me that it's defective surfaces. And surface areas imported from WWTP are never good.

You want me to try to save it in other formats (from Solidworks) ... Basically, do you need the assembly or would a " dead " part be enough for you?
Have you tried with the files I had already converted (See my previous message)?

[a little later]...
Here are the conversion of the assembly to a part. and its equivalent in Parasolid (Zip format, the Forum does not take the raw *.x_t formats):
422116-01-02_MASS D25_251111_(part). SLDPRT (49.9 MB)
422116-01-02_MASS D25_251111_(parasolid).zip (21.4 MB)
