29° Symmetrical Trapezoidal Profile ACME Threads
It is the American equivalent (USA) of the trapezoidal net of ISO 2901 standardized in France. It is
with a profile angle of 29° (compared to 3.0° for the ISO profile) and nominal dimensions
in inches. Developed for the transmission of motion and force, there are two types of
Possible nets:
a type for general application with 3 tolerance classes 2G (commonly used), 3G and
4G with reduced play;
a type with centered threads allowing the nut to be centered in relation to the screw (concentricity
controlled) having 5 tolerance classes 2C, 3C, 4C, 5C and 6C (increasing precision by going
from 2 to 6).
Symmetrical trapezoidal profile with reduced height and 29° Stub Acme Threads
Characterized by a 40% reduction in height compared to the usual Acme profile, this profile is intended for
for applications with coarse pitches and shallow depths ("threads on thin tubes"...) that need to be
heat-treated. Only one 2G class possible
Note: US standards offer a Stub Acme version with an angle of 60° (instead of 29°).
