FloXpress does not recognize volume

Hello:)

I have a little puzzle to train you!!

I want to perform a simulation to see the aerodynamics of my train, I create a volume around it (rectangular shape, but I also tried round), which I close at both ends (everything is in volume) is no way to launch the simulation (it opens a "Reconizing fluid volume" window and then tells me that it can't find it :(. Do what you wanted, change measures...

->See attached file<-

Thanks in advance:)

Hi @ RemSolid

being in a lower version (2012)

I can't do anything for you

Hello

It seems to me that FloXpress needs a volume and not a surface.

It is therefore necessary to create a volume from the surface:

- or by using the thicken surface function

-either:

"The surface must be closed, then sew and check the option to form a volume:

http://help.solidworks.com/2013/french/SolidWorks/sldworks/HIDD_DVE_KNIT...

Or use the fill function:

http://help.solidworks.com/2012/French/SolidWorks/sldworks/Filled_Surfac..."

See these different links where the question has been addressed on Lynkoa (convert surface to volume):

Hello

FloXpress like many Xpress functions is very limited compared to the full versions.

So who says limit says constraints to be respected.

FloXpress only works on volumes (here you surfaces  ).

So it is absolutely necessary that your piece is in volume so you have to close all the surfaces and sew them or thicken them before starting the calculation.

Another remark, the goal being if I understand correctly to calculate the airflow around the train, there is no point in having the train in thicken mode, it is better to create it "Full" it will complicate much less the calculation of the fluidic volume.
