Hello My Solidworks 2026 was working correctly since its installation in December 2025, but for the past 3 days it has been indicating a lot of errors when opening assemblies with which I had no problem before. some even don't want to open anymore SWSHEL error 1. Can you help me?
Hello Stéphane. My answer will not please you. This is not a solution, but a potential explanation. NEVER EVER, INSTALL a recent version labeled from the year of grace where we are. Always stay on a version year -2 and sp3 minimum either 2023 or 2024. It's a rule of life. I hope your problem will be solved quickly. Good luck.
I understand. We postpone the acquisition of 3DE because it requires work and storage on the cloud. Our choice is to know that everything is stored at home and not in the countryside, with 3-2-1 security. I hope that everything will be arranged as soon as possible for this. The VSTV teams are there for that.
You’re not alone — SWSHEL Error 1 started appearing for a lot of users after SP0.0 updates. In many cases, a simple Repair install or rolling back to a more stable service pack (SP2/SP3) fixes it.
Also, SolidWorks’ own advice is basically to avoid early releases — newer version builds often ship with stability issues.
If repair doesn’t help, try opening the assembly with suppressed components or test with a copy outside PDM.
