Generative structural analysis - Multi-part/body simulation

Hello

I would like to do a modeling of a rockwell test on CATIA with a spherical indenter on any material. However, I can't do the simulation.

Should I run the analysis from a product or from a part with several bodies?

I have some basics in RDM but now I'm lost. I have tried several simulations but none of them is conclusive.

Any advice or tips to give me?

Thanks in advance,

Ludovic.

Hello

First of all, "Pivot too small .. → Your FEM model has a degree of freedom. All degrees of freedom must be blocked

Regarding your need: To do an analysis with several components, it is necessary to go through the analysis of a Product. CATIA V5 only takes into account Core Bodies.

On the other hand, CATIA V5 does not actually manage contact. We are in a linear analysis. So your sphere has a connection with a point at the beginning of the analysis, will stay with a point without taking into account the interface deformation.

You can approach your analysis by sewing a small local surface onto your sphere and using a contact-type assembly analysis connection.

To use these products correctly, it would be best to do a little training

Kind regards
Yann
