Management of unfolded symmetrical sheet metal parts

Hello

When we draw a sheet metal part, sometimes we need a symmetrical sound, so we create it via the "symmetrical part insertion" function. Each part is assigned a code automatically (via EPDM). Everything is then transferred to an ERP based on these codes (and on the bodies for mechanically welded parts).

The folds of these two pieces are symmetrical but their unfolding is identical. And so we want to be able to order the unfolded with the same reference, whether it is for the original or the symmetrical. Is it possible in one way or another to make the link between unfolded parts in order to avoid ordering the same part but with two references?

For the moment we had thought of renaming the configurations manually so that the folded corresponds to the part code and the unfolded to the code of the original with the suffix D, we could then maybe export the configurations that would form a kind of nomenclature.

Are there other solutions? We are open to any proposal or idea that could help us move forward on this point.

Thank you for your help,

Hello

To my knowledge, there is no solution to make a link between the two unfolded, except to make the same piece in two different configurations: unfold the folds one by one, then fold them in the other direction: it's really not practical...

The solution you use seems to be the simplest...

yes as indicated @ .PL

you have the right walkthrough put a prefix for symmetry

and give the unfold of the mother piece

question already study on the site with the same answer
