Hi all
I'm looking for a tool to manage the references of drawings associated with 3D parts, let me explain:
As part of a project I have an A1 room with its A1 drawing, I have several other rooms of the same type as the A1 room already designed but with different dimensions, let's call the A2, A3 rooms etc.
I want to copy the A1 plane by renaming it A2 plane, A3 plan etc, then change the reference of the 3D part by associating it with the right part.
Do you know a tool to do this work more easily?
Thanks in advance
The ideal would have been to make the 1st drawing of the original part and then copy the part and the MEP with packAndGo each time to keep the link between the 2.
Now maybe some macros exist, but not sure you save a lot of time compared to a copy paste, rename and change manual reference.
Here is an example of a macro for changing the reference (here part in an assembly but the principle is identical.):

Hello @tous
On my side I don't think it's possible to reattach the dimensions and annotations, unless these parts have the same IDs, in case you have copied the part A, modify it and rename it to A1😜
That said, if only the dimensions are different, go with excel configuration, it will be more practical
Hello
Several ways to do it:
-
In your drawing, you have to go to "tool" then "Replace model", "check all views" and then browse to select your new part.
-
Another way to do this, you change the name of your A1 room... then when you open your A2, A3 drawings etc, Solidworks will ask you where to point. All you have to do is select the piece that interests you. Don't forget to rename your piece A1 again once it's finished
