Custom Property Entry Histories

Good evening everyone,

I work on Solidworks 2013 where I mainly make drawings of parts and assemblies that are modeled by other people (sometimes not very attentive to details).  I created a " property form"  (.drwprp) with the " property tab builder " and linked the properties to different text boxes to make it easier to enter my title blocks. I had built this " property form"  of drop-down lists with customizable values, thinking that there was a kind of history of entries since I (often) reuse certain properties... But not at all !

So here's my problem : is there a procedure to be performed so that the entries made in the custom properties tab of the task pane are kept in the list ?

For your information, currently my lists are linked to an Excel file in which I enter my new properties in front of the old ones. But I would like to work only on the Solidworks dialog! Which brings a second possible formulation of my problem : can the entries be saved in the background in an Excel file?

Otherwise I'll go back to the good old 3D cartridges!

I hope I've been clear enough with this PAVE ! Thanks in advance !

See this tutorial

If the custom properties have been named in theory the filling of the cartridge can be done in auto

of course if the cartridge has been configured to have the links

Links are possible via the personal properties, the excell nomenclature and the cartouche

See this link to link the notes to the cartridge personal property

Good evening, a priori it was planned to import lists from Excel or Access but not to export from SolodWorks to Excel! So the only possibility would be to create a macro, which for example would replace the save or print button in SolidWorks, which would save the drawing and update the Excel database. I created a macro like this to create PDFs at the same time as printing.

Otherwise, I don't think there is any other solution.

Thank you gt22, very good tutorials by the way! My cartridges work very well if we don't notice this absence of "seizure history".

You say "Links are possible via the personal properties the excell nomenclature and the cartridge". Indeed, but I doubt that it can do what I want: I would just like my edit boxes (which are lists with customizable values) of my "custom properties" to have an input history: that I can find in the list what I typed two weeks ago as well as what I typed yesterday.

Thank you .PL, I was afraid of this answer! I had asked the question to possibly find another solution, I only postponed the deadline!! ;)
