I need to import a file that I have in *.step format and in *.ifc format into solidworks.
But I can't import it correctly so that I can constrain it into an assembly because at best I get parts with graphic bodies.

Depending on the software since the origin of the export, this can be normal.
In which software was the file created?
A carpentry software like Tekla structure, in particular=ifc or non-volume step and not very usable, indeed.

But there is no certainty of the result.
It is very possible that the format will remain graphic because these software (Tekla and possibly Aveva E3D) are fake 3d, point cloud style and the export is therefore complicated.
