Hello
It's all in the question, how to import native Sketchup files into SolidWorks.
Not 3D DWG made with Sketchup Pro as you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyI-V4NLs28
Thank you in advance

Exactly, the key is to go through IGES.
The problem is that once the transformation is done, you still have to modify the IGES file to make up for the errors during the format export.
It's far from simple but doable.
I had a tutorial to translate at the time for the site, I'm going to get my hands on it just in case, at least to know the software to use.
In the end it's not IGES but STL and the tutorial is here in English: http://www.shapeways.com/tutorials/sketchup_3d_printing_export_to_stl_tutorial
This is really the simplest method for those who manage CAD at a minimum.
Good luck
Well, it's going to end up being spam there... But it's interesting.
While searching for my link, I found this: https://sites.google.com/site/sketchupsage/resources#exporters
In the STL category, there are obviously plugins for the import/export of STEP that work very well!
To try.
EDIT: With the little video that goes well :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyI-V4NLs28&feature=youtu.be
Re
I refine my question NATIVE Import Sketchup and not IGES nor STEP nor DWG3D.
My customer will only be able to send me native SKP.
So there are interfaces abroad: http://www.sycode.com/products/skp_import_sw/ and my question is is there the same thing in a French company. Yes, I like the made in France ;).
@+
Hehe, +1 for the made in France but in this case, my answer will be the same as Lucas':(
Why not download SketchUp which is free to export to another format?
http://www.sketchup.com/fr
Then use one of the tutorials above or see this thread on GrabCAD:
https://grabcad.com/questions/how-to-import-sketchup-files-to-solidworks
Edit: it looks complicated indeed, three solutions:
In any case, it will only be possible for small files...
Currently I don't know of any "French" module to do this... But if you have 2s, open a call to your respective dealers indicating that you want to be attached to the spr 530163... This is to obtain the ability to import/export sketchup..., this Spr is currently in high criticality at SolidWorks.
I already apologize to my comrades who must already be cursing me -_-
or, I have never tested, it should be possible to link yourself directly to this SPR by going through the Solidworks customer portal and doing a search in the KB or in the improvement requests...
Another online converter that accepts native SketchUp files, free for 7 days and $1 conversion thereafter:
https://www.babel3d.com/
Source (which gives 2 other options): http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/convert-3d-software.html
So if I summarize for now the solutions are:
- I buy SKETCHUP Pro to be able to manage the interfaces (step or dwg3d): well!!
- I buy an interface on a website that I don't know the durability or seriousness of: well!!
- I'm pushing SolidWorks to develop an interface (an idea I submitted at the opening of the Top Ten for 2014 but an idea that very few people voted for): how lucky it is to see this happen????
No one with another idea?
Thank you in advance
Hello by following the links of the links, we arrive at a page that explains why it is not possible
http://www.okino.com/conv/exp_sketchup.htm#reconstruction
I have the same problem with my clients who mainly do design (exterior) and when it comes to integrating the mecha I am forced to redo everything in drawing (and without a precise dimension of course).
So SketchUp, Bender and other free software seem to be working on a different process not compatible with solidworks.
If a devellopper magician finds the solution...... I'm also interested in .obl, .stl, .3ds
This is possible since I have found interfaces from Indian or Japanese companies that do it.
I would have liked our Frenchies at Datakit or other to have also had a solution....
Indeed, these software does not work on volume modelers like SolidWorks with Parasolid but on mesh type modelers, hence the direct incompatibility but as you can find on the net if you have Sketchup Pro you can generate a DWG3d or an IGES to transfer to a volume software.
For my part, I don't want to buy Sketchup Pro to do this, hence my question about an interface that I want to buy of course.

@Coyote the fact that the SPR is in high indicates that the developers are working on the subject, but tell you that it will happen in 2015, 2016,... this is impossible. It would have been in review, I would have taken more risk to give you an implementation version.
@Fabrice_A: Ok I'm pushing with SolidWorks to see this happen as soon as possible...
On the other hand, I'll have to push very hard with my little arms....
