Plastic injection

Hello everyone,

I created a mold for a spacer, normally it's good, I think I managed to reproduce what my teacher asked me to do but I'm not sure. It's for a BTS project. The big problem is that I don't know how and where to make the entrance for the injection.

Could you please help🙏 me

Lenny_Kr,
For my part I will put the injection in the central axis or others=>

Yes, that's exactly it, playing well.

Hello @A_R

I'm not an expert in injection at all.
Can you explain to me why you should do 4 injection points?

Thank you

My opinion, but I'm not an expert at all.

Is its mold perfect? :sweat_smile:

Hello FRED78,
Also I'm not an expert but that's what I learned at the L'ol school (I worked in the foundry, sand mold).

But watch this video everything is demonstrated=>

Indeed I was a little quick to answer, the injection will be done in the center.
Have a nice day.

@A_R
Thank you for your answer.
Just one last question about the choice to put the injection at the center.
I have the impression that the part is hollowed out in the center, can we inject from the center if the assembly obstructs this area?
Or it's just an impression :thinking:

Hello FRED78,
Indeed there must be a vacuum between the cylinders (Male), to leave the material that is in our thickness of the cylindrical part.

Have a good late afternoon.

I just have one last question, do you know how to do a plastic injection simulation on Solidworks?

Hi Lenny_Kr,

No, not at all, but maybe with Solidworks Plastics, something like this=>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-MAC6bikn8
or rather this =>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KC_GNuQCn9s
And maybe that =>https://www.visiativ-education-recherche.fr/licences/monde-de-leducation/licence-etudiante-gratuite-sdk/
I just found Solidworks Plastics, it's sold with the premium version, which I don't have...=>
