Inserting an excel file into a solidworks drawing via a macro

Hello

I want to create a macro that inserts an existing excel file, first by giving the name of the file and its location to the macro.

I tried the function below but it is not usable in the solidworks API.

Do you know a way to build this macro?

Thank you

Hello;
To import an Excel document into my drawings, I use this macro (VBA):

' Prérequis: Une Mise en plan Solidworks est ouverte.

Option Explicit

Dim swApp                   As SldWorks.SldWorks
Dim swModel                 As SldWorks.ModelDoc2
Dim swDraw                  As SldWorks.DrawingDoc

Sub main()

    Set swApp = Application.SldWorks
    Set swModel = swApp.ActiveDoc
    Set swDraw = swModel

    ImportTable swDraw

End Sub

Sub ImportTable(drawingSheet As SldWorks.DrawingDoc)

    Dim swTable                 As SldWorks.TableAnnotation
    Dim swAnn                   As SldWorks.Annotation
    Dim nNumCol                 As Long
    Dim nNumRow                 As Long
    Dim sRowStr                 As String
    Dim i                       As Long
    Dim j                       As Long

    Dim objExcelObject          As Excel.Application
    Dim objBook1                As Excel.Workbook
    Dim objSheet1               As Excel.Worksheet

    Dim iRows                   As Integer
    Dim iCols                   As Integer
    Dim sBase                   As String

    For i = 0 To iRows - 1
        Dim cell As Range

            ' Definition du format du texte
            swTable.SetCellTextFormat i, j, False, tf

            swTable.CellTextVerticalJustification(i, j) = Switch(cell.VerticalAlignment = XlVAlign.xlVAlignBottom, swTextAlignmentBottom, cell.VerticalAlignment = XlVAlign.xlVAlignCenter, swTextAlignmentMiddle, True, swTextAlignmentTop)

            swTable.Text(i, j) = cell

        Next j
        ' Definition des Hauteur de colonnes
        swTable.SetRowHeight i, cell.RowHeight / 0.75 / 4000, swTableRowColChange_TableSizeCanChange

        swTable.GetAnnotation.Layer = "Annotation"

    Next i

    End If

    Set objSheet1 = Nothing
    Set objBook1 = Nothing
    Set objExcelObject = Nothing

End Sub

This macro allows you to select the Excel cells to import into the Solidworks drawing (in the form of a BOM table).
To be modified according to your preferences:
InitialFileName = the initial location for opening a Windows Explorer.
swTable.GetAnnotation.Layer = " Annotation " 'If you are using a particular layer for your Tables.

ps: Be careful, the message-box for the validation of the selection of excel cells may be hidden by it if Excel is opened on the same screen as Solidworks... don't panic, it's just behind Excel... :sweat_smile:
(If anyone knows a trick to display it, the msgbox, in the foreground, I'll gladly take it.)

Kind regards.

Note:
Remember to specify the Solidworks version, the 3Dexperience version does not always accept the use of macro (and, possibly, the Excel version too - for the same reasons).

And to specify the desired programming language.

En complément, voici un petit tuto pour l’utilisation combinée d’ Excel avec Solidworks:
