Interface that becomes seamless

Hi all

I have a small problem that I can't solve, when I want to make a 3D sketch, create a new part in an assembly or make a bill of materials. The Solidworks interface becomes transparent (see PJ it's more telling)

To go back to the initial I have to leave the 3D sketch, create a new part or insert a new nomenclature.

Has anyone ever encountered this problem?

For information:

Solidworks 2012 x64 Edition

PC Configuration:

  • Windows 7 64-bit
  • Intel Core i5 2.8 GHz
  • 8 GB RAM
  • NVidia Quadro FX 3800

Thank you for your help!

Hello

I think this happens to you when you're in an assembly and you want to create a part in context.

In this case, by default, the assembly is made transparent, but you can adjust this (and remove the transparency) by going to the general options, in the Display section.

Sorry, but your image doesn't speak for itself. The answer may not correspond to your expectations.

Kind regards

Thank you for the feedback, indeed my image is not very telling...

But I understand what you mean but it concerns all parts of Solidworks (Part, Assembly, Drawing).

In fact, the entire window becomes transparent.

Hello again,

Then it may be a problem with the graphics card driver to be updated.

Go to the SOLIDWORKS website to see the version of the validated driver.

On the other hand, I'm afraid that the history doesn't go back far enough in the versions! ;-) because your SW2012/Windows7/NVidia QuadroFX3800 combination may not appear in the results.

Kind regards

That's indeed why I had put the configuration of the PC, unfortunately already made the remark to my boss for the renewal of the computer park but unfortunately not in the projects for the moment

If it appeared only recently, go to the Windows update history, there may be a graphics driver update that has passed unexpectedly.
If this is the case, normally, it is possible to go back.

Quite honestly, I only realized it when I had to use the 3D sketch once. So there have been quite a few Windows updates since then. The graphics card is up to date and I tried to change the settings of the card but nothing helps...

Maybe a reinstallation of Solidworks in factory settings? But I'm already afraid of the gas plant that it can generate...

Thank you for your feedback!

I don't really believe in SW's restoration.

I imagine that you have already stopped and then started your machine...

Do you have a colleague with the same graphics card?
- Does he also have the problem?
- Does it have the same driver?
- Do you have a backup of the current driver? If yes, you can try to revert to the previous version of the driver.

The last version available on Nvidia's website (https://www.nvidia.fr/download/driverResults.aspx/70503/fr) dates back to 2013, it's 331.82.
You can always try to install it (if it's not the one you have) since we can go back (still do an additional restore point).

Otherwise, perhaps, apply to Porsche...

Have you followed the recommendations for Windows settings (modification of registry keys, increase of virtual memory, etc.)?

I made the changes recently (new SolidWorks user) and it's clearly better...

Oops... with the attachment....
