We are delighted to invite you to the myCAD Days 2024, the must-see events for the design office! These days, organized in the regions, are an opportunity to present the new solutions of Visiativ and its partners (Dassault Systèmes, Lenovo, Eficad...) and to strengthen your skills on various subjects: CAD hardware, myCADtools, Visiativ PLM, digital thread, and much more.
And new this year, you will have the opportunity to attend amyCADtools or 3DEXPERIENCE training, organized throughout the day!
2 sessions depending on your level will be offered: discovery (getting started) or in-depth
You can register for up to 1 3DEXPERIENCE session and 1 myCADtools session. After his training sessions, leave with your materials! Please note that these trainings are in parallel with the main conferences of the day, so you will not be able to attend them at the same time.
To get organized, plan your training by registering via the event registration form! Please note that training places are limited to 10 people per session.
I too registered in Lyon and I chose the 3DExperience In-depth training session on the registration form it is not mentioned if it will be on CATIA or SolidWorks or maybe both Any idea? Thank you in advance!!
The SNCF having decided that I could not go to this Seminar, do you think it would be possible to make a small (exhaustive) summary of your exchanges?
Personally, I'm perplexed by the direction that the majority of Mycad tools are taking. (I have big reservations about their (abusive) use of their tools for creating " Field " / Common Control...)
Hi Maclane, To start with, I think that training is a good idea. They allow you to approach subjects while practicing. Which is much more telling than the best presentation. This is even if the training cannot be deepened by definition because of the time and the diversity of the public.
Then, specifically with regard to the MyCadTools training, it allowed to focus on some of the utilities such as FindDocument. As this utility has been recently updated, I found this example interesting and I will put into practice the concepts covered. We also discussed SmartBom and its new link with BatchConverter. This is more than interesting for us because we have developed a macro that performs this type of functionality.
Finally, I find on the contrary of your opinion that the field concatenation tool is much more practical than before and above all identical for all utilities.
PS: Thank you @Coralie for his welcome. I couldn't greet you as I left because you were busy. Have a good end of the day
I imagine that you are in the same situation as me at the head of your design office, namely (for me at least):
I " program " the Mycad tools and all the macros (if the Mycad tools are not enough) for all the users of the Design Office.
Hence my annoyance with the field tools that are sometimes difficult to interpret/read/understand by my co-Cartoonists who " suffer " from my adjustments:
(They often end up with a Field Named " Rule1 " rather than (for example):
and it is not always easy to know/understand the requested action if the " Field " is not itself detailed...
If I extrapolate this type of Fields (the non-detailed ones) to the " Project Manager " tool, given the amount of rules we have established for the duplication of assemblies, I am worried...
Regarding FindDocument, it's a great and extremely practical tool, only at the moment only my 3D data of the " Libraries " type are scanned in the " Database "; If I want to include all my 3D files to be able to use the " file/reference renaming" function, the said Database takes more than 48 hours to update... it becomes unusable.
I therefore deplore the abandonment in favor of the " Project Explorer " tool, which is certainly slow to use but it works rather well.
And to finish (today) ... What's this connection between the SmartBom utility and BatchConverter?
You can generate a bill of materials and at the same time create the file conversion in order to have a complete file to send to a subcontractor for example. I don't have my PC at hand. I will give a more complete answer tomorrow. Good night
