The station is not stable, it closes when recording

Solidworks software often and for no reason closes with the message:

See attached "Screen print"

capture060215.jpg

Hello, What did you do on your PC before for the message to arrive, updates?

Hello, this can come from many problems.

We should see in the observer of events if there is a particular error at that time.

To open Event Viewer, click the StartImage du bouton Démarrer button , click Control Panelclick System and Security, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer.

What was written at the time the problem occurred?

Then, you can update the different drivers, especially those of the graphics card: You can check and download the latest recommended drivers here:

http://www.solidworks.fr/sw/support/videocardtesting.html

Otherwise, you should try resetting the SolidWorks settings to see if it doesn't come from the configuration of the workstation, see this tutorial:

http://www.lynkoa.com/tutos/3d/reinitialiser-les-parametres-solidworks

And you can also test a system restore, it doesn't change anything about the installed programs or the files on the disk, but resets the system settings to an earlier date. See here :

Maybe it's just a bad opening, or a badly loaded registry key.

I advise you to restart your machine and see if everything goes back to normal.

What is your amount of memory and operating system

often this is the problem not enough mememorials for several applications

@+ ;-))

I want to say "it's normal"... Personally, it does it to me between 2 and 10 times a day... And when I went to Axemble for my last training, it happened to us once a day... It just goes to show that even resellers have software bugs;)

EDIT: The best way to reduce these messages is to avoid doing the manipulations that make it close, for example, at home, the cuts tend to make the message appear, so before each cut, I save my assembly and I don't create any more saved cuts, I redo them from the beginning each time.

Have you installed the latest version of SolidWorks 2014, sp5?

Hello

I agree with Gt22 about the lack of available memory!

See if processes are not underway despite their closures.

so cross-checking the answer of gt22, when I was in 2013 8GB of ram memory was enough and in 2014 I had to go to 16GB to avoid this type of inconvenience.

during a discussion with a colleague who works on large assemblies, he told me that he had been forced to switch to 32GB.

I think my biggest problem is the memory drain which should not be done correctly (especially after a crash) because even with only one piece open you have this type of message.

Edit: CCleaner can be your friend in this type of situation
