When you say English, do you mean the English language, or the projection of views in the American way?
If it's a recurring need, make a template (drwdot) with all the specifications you want.
That way, when creating the plan, you choose the GB or FR model.
Hello
The position of the views are defined in the sheet property
What I do for my shots I have a series of cartridges in English and a series in French (American position and the other European)
On the other hand, for the translation of the comments and annotations, I make 2 separate files and use the translation utility for one of them.
This allows me to have a French version and an American version for the same play
They are linked to the part and evolved in case of modification
There must be something to do with the sldstd files.
You can find this in Tools/Option/Document Properties/Wrapping Standards. There are already basic standards of registration.
To know which one may be suitable... or recreate another one.
There was a similar topic a few months ago http://www.lynkoa.com/forum/cao/changer-le-texte-d-origine-sur-dans-le-slddrw. To be tested and coupled with the idea of creating a drwdot.
The view labels are standardized, which is why by default they cannot be modified, but it is quite simple to make a template with view labels in English.
To do this, open a drawing, go to tools, option, document properties, view, uncheck the "according to standard" option and modify the labels to your liking.
Once all the settings have been made, made, filed, saved as, in type choose drawing template (.drxdot) and create your plan template, by making a new file you will have your drawing template directly set up as you wish.
Hello
Thank you for your answers, I had already tried to uncheck according to the standard, it gives me access to a drop-down menu, but in no case can I write a label (see image) I'm in SW2012, maybe that's why?
What if you look at the first line "Dressing Standard"? You don't have access to anything?
My screenshot above is from SW2013
Yes, the Packaging standard drop-down menu allows me to choose the standard, ISO, ANSI, DIN, GB etc... But it doesn't change anything, whichever one I choose I only have access to the drop-down menus and not to the editing.
As soon as I uncheck "according to the standard", the dressing standard becomes XXXX-Modified, but nothing more.
I created one, in an external .sldstd file but I can't set it. (see photo)
Well, it seems compromised then!
For 2013, the drop-down menus are editable (see image). This is indeed a new feature on this version (page 149 of 251 of Whatsnew 2013).
The way out may be in the language files (C:\Program Files\SolidWorks Corp\SolidWorks\lang), but before you find the right one...
It is in this folder that the "File for defining the format of symbols for drilling is located".
Ok, well I can only hope to be able to migrate quickly to a higher version.
Thank you anyway
Hello
Sorry to go back to this post two years old but being under Solidworks 2016 SP3.0, the problem is still the same, no possibility to pass the labels in English without changing the full language of the software ... I am waiting for a response from the Hotline on this point.
there it must be a bug, because I did it (French menu, custom view label) with SW15.
Hello
well it's simply because the word SECTION is not correct and it may be because it is associated with an option in the section view, try with CUT instead of SECTION or add: after this word.
PS: This time I told myself that I should take the time to share this, and it also allows me to avoid going around in circles every time I ask myself this question...; )
