Is it possible to automatically launch a macro (allowing to rename the configurations) during a 'copy tree' of an EPDM assembly??
The name of the configurations is linked to our CAPM and we sometimes have forgotten to rename it when we copy a part / assembly (so we launch the original part in manufacture instead of launching the copied and modified part).
I don't think this is possible natively. Basic Dispatch allows you to play with parameters from the vault that play on the files (record name, variable update, etc.) but not on the content of the file itself.
As a first approach, I would rather say that there should be a macro to be launched in SW (via an icon to simplify the use for all users) by users. We come up against everyone's rigor but I don't see any other solution (or then you have to see in the Visiativ tools if they haven't developed something that is close to the request).
If even @Cyril.fdries up, I feel like I'm going to give up on the idea.
If the macro is not automatic when copying tree, the interest is very limited because deleting a configuration (or configurations) is not really more complicated than clicking on a button to do it. So the one who doesn't think to rename/delete the configurations won't think to click on the macro button.
I'm not infallible;) After that, for macros, there are possibilities to do this in complete transparency with the user, but as explained in another topic, it would be necessary to modify the shortcut launching SW to add the launch of a macro at startup.
By then playing with SW events (opening files...), you can check for example that the configurations are formatted correctly and if this is not the case apply a processing.
After all, it's true that doing it by hand is not very complex but we always come back to the problem of the chair-keyboard interface:)
