Abnormal slowness of solidworks

Hello everyone.

I'm turning to you because I currently have a big problem.

Two days ago I could use my solidworks without any problem, it worked wonderfully and since then it has only been lagging in terms of image rendering of the creation, just creating a new sketch my computer is very very slow.

I checked, despite my small graphics card, SD launches well on the one if and not on the motherboard.

I tested a lot of things, uninstalled/reinstalled, fiddled with the SD settings.

I also looked at the latest update of my graphics card and it was done well before the detection of my slowness problems 2 days ago.

Some info about my pc (even if I think it won't be useful since before SD worked without problem and therefore who supported me pc):

graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 820m

8 GB RAM

intel i3 at 1.9GHz

and windows10  x86

If you have an idea of why, how or if this problem has already happened to you, I'm looking for a solution / ideas

Thank you

Anthony

Did you get a SolidWorks update (next SP?)

A Windows update?

Hello

Which version of SW do you run on a 32-bit PC in W10?

As seen here: http://www.solidworks.fr/sw/support/SystemRequirements.html

SW has only been compatible with W10 since SW 2015 SP5. And these versions no longer exist in 32 bits!

@Remrem why are you talking about 32 bits???

Otherwise, you should try a disk cleanup (I'm thinking of a saturation of local files)

Kind regards

G. he talks about windows 10 x86 in his config, so 32 bits

Ok ok, sorry, I lost an opportunity to shut up:)

I didn't know.

I'm thinking,  32-bit is not very widespread, so if you have to send files to customers or subcontractors, it must be a hassle!!

No?

Have a good end of the afternoon

launches a little SolidWorks Rx

then System Maintenance

It doesn't change anything about the files. When you use a 32-bit Office package, you can use files from a 64-bit Office and vice versa.

64bits allows you to better manage RAM by application.

Hello, I'm quite surprised to see that people don't hesitate to point out to me that I don't know much about computers, on the other hand in terms of solution I find that we launch @Antoine which is much more annoying than me...

So have you tried to make a Solidworks Rx? a cleaning with CCleaner? a disk cleanup???

Have a good end of the day

Sorry if you thought my goal was to stigmatize you or make you look ignorant.

Honestly, my idea was far from that. I think we all participate in Lynkoa to share and learn. :-) If I have been able to teach you something on this subject, you will certainly have things to teach me on other subjects.

Have a nice day ;-)

Hi everyone, @Remrem, I reassure you I fully assume my lack of knowledge in computer science and I don't blame you at all for the remarks ;)

As for teaching you I hope to be able to help you one day because as you say, it's the purpose of this forum to help each other in case of need.

Have a good day and good luck;)

Hello

Have you tried to emulate OpenGL functions in SW options at the Performance level?

If activating this works better, it's because you have a problem with your CG.

Wouldn't there have been a windows update (KBxxxx) that would have been done without you knowing?

There are relatively often compatibility problems between SW and KBs...

@ G.: we're all here to learn ;-)

Hello everyone!

So I tried everything you told me to do and I even defragmented my disk to see. But nothing had changed

And the solution apparently came from elsewhere.

I just deleted the two extensions that were in the same folder as solidworks, I don't remember their name sorry but I think one of them was to make 2D drawings.

It really amazes me that by removing just two extensions I have no lag anymore. If it happens it doesn't come from there at all, but I can't explain to you what has changed on my computer in the meantime.

Thank you all for your ideas and proposals!
