Solidworks Slowness

Hello

I'm looking for the origin of a slow problem with Solidworks.

I carried out a small experiment: 2 workstations with Solid. Connected to the same corporate network. I open the same assembly (saved on the network, without PDM), not very complex, on both stations.

  • On the most powerful computer: freeze every 3/4 clicks, unbearable
  • On the least powerful computer: everything is fine

I deduce that the solid settings must be to blame, but which ones?

Yours sincerely.

Hello

We would have to reset the solidworks registry keys in order to have a factory setting.

This will exclude a parameter that is causing problems.

Go to regedit (start, run regedit) and then rename SW20xx OLD:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Solidworks\SolidWorks .... depending on the version you want to reset.

When you restart SW, you will have the "factory" settings

The license keys are in another place, so no risks.

Yannick

If the problem persists despite the reset of the registry keys, it will be necessary to look into a hardware problem, network access of the station.

Or windows too. Updates can be problematic.

Hello

Have you solved your problem?

If so, please put the answer that allowed you to do so.

Hello

I haven't had time to test the different tracks proposed here yet... I'll keep you informed as soon as possible.

However, I suspect that the custom properties form is at fault. That is to say:

  1. Components have been associated with a custom property form
  2. The form has been deleted

Kind regards
