SolidWorks to STEP Conversion Software

Hello

Do you know of any free software to convert a SolidWorks file (SLDPRT or SLDASM) to STEP ?

Hello, yes, Solidworks does it:D

Save As/ Step

But I guess that's not what you're looking for^^

Hi, do you necessarily want STEP? If not, from eDrawing you can record in STL!

Have you looked at DATAKIT?

Edit:

DATAKIT CrossManager: http://www.datakit.com/fr/cross_manager.php

On the other hand, the price ???

Thank you for your answers, indeed they are for people who are not at the design office (so they don't have SolidWorks), if they could create the wastewater treatment plants that the suppliers ask for without annoying the design office, that would be cool!

+1 for the STL, but in general we need the STEP, you'll have to ask the next time it happens!

FYI:

If your design office has EPDM (and therefore all your 3D files are in EPDM) and people who don't have SolidWorks have an EPDM Contributor license , they can convert files to STEP (if you give them the possibility).

To do this, you need a workstation equipped with SolidWorks that serves as a robot and automatically converts your files as soon as the job is started from a workstation equipped with EPDM Contributor.

If not, can the WWTPs be done on D+1?

You could run them in hidden time, at night, by BatchConverter.

It's quite rare that a WWTP request is made, so I don't want to saturate the network with a copy of WWTP for all the parts!

We don't have Enterprise PDM, but Workgroup PDM, and I made a macro that converts to DWG and PDF when putting it in the vault, but as said just before I don't need all the parts...

I was offering it to you on a one-off basis, just like @flegendre I think.

On Batch converter, people who need a STEP could ask you for it, you complete your Batch Converter list and in the evening you launch.

For the proposal of @flegendre it's a "macro" (actually a dispatch) that you could execute on demand. On EPDM it's simple, you can make it accessible by right-clicking on the part. Is it the same on WorkGroup PDM, I don't know.

SpaceCLAIM can convert sldprt or sldasm to STEP ???????

How much does a Space CLAIM license cost ?

Well, the only free solution found is to convert to STL thanks to Edrawings, then to convert to STEP thanks to FreeCAD for example.

Edrawings link:

FreeCAD link:

Thank you all!

following the message from @ Thierry Belben and @ Benoit

my knowledge of non-space claim does not convert SW file to STEP

but in parasolid with the DATA EXCHANGE 2 complement in + space claim

see the link http://www.spaceclaim.com/fr/Products/Addons/Interoperability.aspx

I've never tested it but apparently it's done:

Create a STEP or other from a 3D PDF, it all depends on the version of adobe

I quote:

Precondition: Adobe 9

Start your 3DPDF, aktivat the 3D content, right mouse button and select "Edit in 3D Reviever"

In 3D Reviever select "File"...... "Export"..... choose your preferred format and settings and export to your HDD.l"

Inventor Fuision version 2012 can do it too, but since 2013 it no longer exists in a stand-alone version (separate software from Invetor) and impossible to get your hands on!

Hello

If you have SolidWorks, it's free.

You have it registered as.

You can even automate with Batchconverter for bulk conversion.

Kind regards

@gt22

SpaceClaim can read SolidWorks with the necessary option and save under stp.

Hello

You can use ZW3D, it opens SolidWorks files well and you can save/export in STEP.

It's not free, but you have 30 days of free trial!

 http://www.zw3d.fr/

You can use ZW3D to play Solidwork files and ZW3D saved in STPE.

I have often done this manipulation in one way or another.

ZW3D, is not Free, but there is 1 free trial for 30 days.

here is the link to download ZW3D: http://www.zw3d.fr/
