Macro "open and save active ASM coins"

Hello

I'm looking to make a macro to open and save the parts of the active assembly.

Let me explain why:

To fill in the custom properties of the parts of an assembly, I use the "assembly visualization" tool. It allows you to display the custom properties of the parts in the left pane, and to modify them from the assembly. It's a time saver to establish a nomenclature without too many failures. The problem, recognized by Solidwowrks, is that the modifications are only taken into account if the room is then opened. If the assembly is recorded, SW does not consider that there has been a modification and does not register the parts.

I'm going to open other topics about nomenclature editing because I have a lot of difficulty doing a clean and fast job when the solutions surely exist.

Thank you for reading.

Hello

To edit the custom properties of a list of files, you can try the "Batch Custom Properties" program:

Thank you, indeed it seems quite suitable for editing a nomenclature. Can you paste a whole column copied from Excel into it? (like all the landmarks)

If not, I found that it was possible to write properties from an xls table via Integration / add modify properties from an excel table . For me it's even more direct to finalize the nomenclature.

But in any case I would still go through visualization, at least at the beginning of my nomenclature edit. And it also has the advantage of visualizing the room at the same time.

Another proposal?

That's it, I found this: https://www.3dcontentcentral.fr/macros/181/files/macro.aspx?id=191419

But I'm thinking that it would be safer to open and save only the selected documents, otherwise it can become a heavy operation.

Tomorrow I'm trying to record a macro.

yes , it is possible to paste an entire column from Excel to Batch Custom Properties.
