Solidworks cartridge shift on existing piece

Hello

In order to update some plans I would like to know how to replace a cartridge.

I have a few parts, with 3d + drawing, created a long time ago with a cartouche of my design but not up to date.

I have recreated an updated cartridge and I would like to know if I can replace it without having to recreate the complete drawing (because I think my cartridge is linked to the standard solidworks basemap.)

Thank you in advance.

So the simplest thing to do,

It's to create a stupid macro.

Start recording the macro, right-click on the sheet 1 tab and choose another format.

Validate. Then do the same operation again but this time choosing the right sheet format.

(Example: I only want to update my A4 plan, so I choose an A3 or other, then the A4 again)

Basically, Solidworks will change the basemap to another one, and then reload the new basemap saved in A4 format)

Hello

I think the easiest way is to update the basemap.

Just like .PL:

The easiest way is to right-click then "Properties" and then in the "Size/format of the baseplane" section select your new basemap using the "Browse" button

That's what I said, but with a macro.

Can you imagine doing that on 150,000 shots? ^^

And without going back and forth between A4 then A3 then A4, it can be good to select its format directly and then click on "reload"

It should logically update

@Bart,  I think that with the macro you will make as many clicks as if you recharge your MEP directly (3 or 4). So I'm not sure I'd create one either

I'm attaching my macro just in case

Even if I doubt that it will work as it is on your computer.

@coincoin: My macro works in 1 click.

I click on my macro, and Sw changes the background shots.

I noticed that if you load the basemap with the same name, it doesn't work

First you need to save your basemap in .slddrt (file/save basemap)

Then right-click on your sheet and properties, browse to your basemap and validate.

That's all folks ;-)

The best thing is to have the Axemble utilities, With INTEGRATION, you automatically replace all your old basemaps with new ones.

Hello

if you want you can save your new title block in SLDDRT and then when you open a plan with an old title box you will just have to right click on your old plan and select properties.

Then you check standard size and you scroll and there you should find the background plan you created and everything will follow when the change.

That's crazy.... Read old answers before making duplicates.....

Thank you very much for your answers.

The update of the baseplane, in fact I have several basemaps when I create my room I select the one I want, the default one is the most used but I prefer to have the choice.

I don't have a lot of plans, I prefer to replace them one by one, but in 1 or 2 clicks it would be great, so I can also check the plan and update it at the same time if necessary.

I'm already getting the macro back, I'll watch the tutorial tomorrow morning trying the manipulation and I'll keep you posted.

So I tried the replacement but I have a problem, and it's maybe me who did things wrong when I made the cartridge.

In fact my plan is an edited solidworks and it is blank (.slddrt) for the cartridge I have several .drwdot. What I would like to do is replace one drwdot with another.

I just reviewed manu67's post, I'm going to try to change the format of the cartridge, I'll see how it behaves. After that, I don't want to make a mess in the database because some cartridges don't have to be modified, just some.

Here is the tutorial to change the background.

Good evening

So I finally solved my problem partly thanks to Bart and Manu.

I had to transform my cartridge into a background, by renaming it under window, no way to make it save as, as manu advised.

Then I replace the background as indicated by bart.

The disadvantage is that I have to reinsert the jpeg logo because it is not. But besides retyping a complete plan, I admit I still save time.

Thank you for your help.

Hello

I am revisiting the subject. You know how people are, just launching a macro makes them c... just thinking about it... when they think about thinking about it.

In manual, a simple reload of the basemap is required in the sheet properties and that's it.

SO, isn't there a way to have a Popup-style reminder open to say that the basemap should only be updated if it's not to the latest template (via using a property of the basemap for example)? Afterwards, people do what they want, but at least they will be aware.

Thank you for your answers and for Bart's tutorial.
