Dotted Marking on Sheet Metal – Export STEP

Hello

I want to make a dotted marking on sheet metal to guide our workshop in the placement of electrical equipment.
However, I can't find a quick fix to turn a sketch line into a visible line on the 3D model.

We export our STEP files to send them to our laser service provider, and I would like this marking to also appear in the exports.
Do you have a solution or trick to achieve this?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello and welcome Victor_Henri,
Hoping that we can help you.
For my part, I will make them directly in the 3D model with a material removal, so you will find them in your STEP.
Be careful to check to do this material removal function in a flat configuration, if your sheet is bent, and check if it still appears by folding your sheet metal...
Keep us informed, @+.
Good luck.

For the marking, either you draw a sketch on the MEP, or remove material on the 0.01mm deep part for example.
Then in the MEP we select the markings and have the toggles on a yellow " Markings " layers.

Our laser technician (in-house or subcontracted) by convention knows that yellow lines = Laser Marking. And his machine also picks up the yellow layers in an auto to automatically switch it as a marking.

Hello
I use the process mentioned by A_R and sbadenis, and everything is fine!
After that, there may be another solution. To be seen.
