Mechanically welded of bent sheets

Hi all

I would like to make a frame with a dimension of 700x2000 whose four sides will be a U-bent sheet metal with a dimension of 160x45.

I know how to make bend sheets, I also master the "Welded construction" function, but I don't know how to make a welded part made of bent sheets...

If you have a tip or a solution to my problem, I'm all for it.

Kind regards

Simon

Hello

Could you show us in pictures your need?

Why make a welded part composed of bent sheets, you can make an assembly of your different types of parts (welded construction and sheet metal).

Here's an example from Solidworks 2016; you just have to make your sheet metal parts in the welded construction and for the MEP done as usual by choosing the component

Mechanical welding profiles of sheet metal elements must be created.

Then make the structure with the mechanical-welding module.

what Solidworks version year do you have?

under 2017 premium and (pro I don't think sure for the pro)

Among other things, there is the possibility of unfolding a surface

so in surface you unfold after you soothe and you have your room unfolded in volume

So create a welded mechanical profile of your dimensions

after welded mechanical module

for me it's + simple ;-)

Hello

I would say like Aliende

You create a profile of your folded sheet metal 160 x 45 and use it as a welded construction profile

On the other hand, you won't be able to unfold any element since it's not sheet metal strictly speaking.

Personally, I also make frames in folded sheet metal, I make my parts in sheet metal and then I assemble them in an assembly. A bit tedious, but it depends on your needs in fact

The surface, I don't know too much, but when you unfold it calculates a developed?

we should start by creating a basic dish, for one side,

having a trapezoid shape with the function

"Insertion/Sheet metal/Bent-base sheet"

Then you have to create a plane on one end to draw the section to be scanned

Then do the same for a second side,

Then do a circular repetition of 180° of the 2 bodies.
