Solidworks Updates for Networked PCs

Hello

I would like to know if this is possible.

I have 2 pcs where soliworks is installed, I would like to update one by downloading and on the second, I would like to get the updates that I will have downloaded from the network.

Thank you for your answers

Yes it is possible and it does not pause any problems, just recover the download folder of the update on the PC from which you downloaded it.

If both solidworks are in the same version there will be nothing else to download

How do we designate a folder for downloading updates, I searched in "the location of the files" but I couldn't find it.

Hello

Right-click on the installation manager in the windows taskbar. Then, in the window that opens, click on browse to indicate the shared folder.

Then the downloads will be made in the chosen folder.

On the other pcs. Just go to the folder in question and click on the setup...

Kind regards

By default, downloads are done in C:\User\UserName\Documents\Solidworks Downloads

For me, it doesn't work, I have changed on my 2 workstations the location of the download of my updates, I have a workstation where the SP1 of the 2014 is installed.

I first tried to update the 2nd as if I had to download the sp1, I thought that as they would have the same file it would detect that the folder was already downloaded but it doesn't work.

After I did as you said I clicked on the setup, but it downloads me other file that is missing.

I don't understand.

Does anyone have an answer???

THANK YOU

If there are any differences in configuration between the two stations. It's normal that there are other files downloaded.

But the size of the download is nothing comparable...

In the Facility Manager. Before starting the update, you must validate the summary of the update's properties. Verify that the download folder.

But I don't think it comes from here.

Hello

For the position where there is the 2014, you have to pay attention to the solidworks data file, that it does not have the same no as the 2013.

I had problems updating my pc and that was the origin of my problem, a small file crossover that had crashed me.

Thank you, but I think my problem is that I have one position in PRO and the other in PRENIUM.

on the other hand if I first do the update in Prenuim, can I take the same files for the pro by installing of course only what he needs?

I do this regularly.
