Drawing with a .sldprt template

Hello

When we start a new part, from the "new SOLIDWORKS document" page, we choose one of the models I created. However, there is no drawing associated with this model...

Is there any way to be able to do that?

Hello, (And best wishes)

I don't really understand the question, but since you have created a part model, you also have to create a drawing model with the desired format, as well as a model for assembly.

Look at this link "https://www.editions-eni.fr/open/mediabook.aspx?idR=72886aabcd4f19285654538f81cbbfd1"

Kind regards.

To copy a part and its drawing you have to look at pack and go (Menu: File, Pack and go)

Or alternatively, start from your model part, copy and paste the drawing, associate and modify the reference of the MEp (to associate the reference of the new part)

To do this, go to the new MEP from the SW explorer, click on reference, edit to the new room and open the MEP.

What I'm looking for is in the opening of a new part, (without reworking an existing one) using the existing templates (see attachment).

Mainly my "colonne_v2" model in which the SmartProperties are configured (automatically taking over the length and diameter), I would like that when you have adjusted these two parameters and you want to create the drawing, a drawing model is already associated, in which you don't have to add the views, the quotation etc...

Hello

I don't really understand your request.

Want an automatic choice of the next drawing model PRT model chooses? If that's it, it's not possible for me to know.

On the other hand, what I can tell you is that:

You can create your drawing background  models with predefined views. Front view, left, iso......

go to insert-> Drawing Views -> Preset Views

Put the desired annotations that can be linked to the custom properties of the  prt model

It doesn't seem to me that it's possible to add the dimensions automatically in the basemap model.

As an extra bonus, you can generate automatic plans with dimension integration, 3D annotations  using Smartdrawing since you seem to have the mycadtools suite.

Hello

I actually think you want to create a component library and in this folder you also create the drawing and then after you open up your room as well as the drawing and you make a record by changing the name and the location of both.

@ac cobra 427,

Yes, that's what I'm looking for, but this part file must be accessible from the "New SOLIDWORKS Document" window; If possible, a .slddrw associated with a .prtdot

The window you mention has a rather explicit name: "new document", in the singular. So this is not how you will get the desired result.

You should consider making a user procedure or a macro, both based on a take-home composition (called pack'n go, I don't know why SW abandoned the francization of this menu line) or use the methods proposed by @YP69 and @ac cobra 427 .

The interest of having this feature via the creation of a new document is I think quite weak (so you will tend to create dozens/hundreds of basic files which is not really the idea).

We have created basic parts + associated MEP for all parts that need them. After that, a simple copy of the part+MEP via Pack & Go (EPDM in our country) and the matter is settled.
