Hello
Is there a possibility to draw an assembly with simplified gear gears?
i.e. without displaying all the teeth but just the normalized representation (foot Ø, centerline for the vehicle Ø,...)
There is always a way to redraw them by hand but it doesn't support updating and I have a lot to do.
This type of feature does not exist by default.
When you want to use simplified components in an assembly (without simplifying the whole assembly).
One solution would be to organize the building tree of these parts.
- A body representing the simplified pinion
- Then other bodies added or removed to finalize the design.
If the work object is activated on the simplified body, only the geometry of the simplified pinion is visible in the assembly.
It can also be managed with two gable pieces:
The sprocket simplified
The complete pinion.
One of the two pieces is of course associative, and they are interchangeable in the assembly.
Another possibility is to manage the representations tab " Edit / representation / manage representations."
We replace the default representation of the CATPart with a backup in CGR format of the simplified pinion less easy to understand.
In short, we don't cut the fact of drawing in 3D at the beginning or end of the design the simplified part.
