Drawing an assembly with only some parts but not all

Hello to you.

A quick question.

When I set up a front view of an assembly, I hide some parts so that it is clearer.

When I do a top view for example, from this front view, I have all the pieces again and I have to hide again what I didn't put in front view... which is laborious and error-prone

The question is:

Isn't it possible to make a top view of a front view (where I have hidden some parts) directly and the latter does not have the hidden parts of the front view?

Thank you for your advice!

Hello

You can make display states for this.

Configuration: management by deletion of parts
Display status: management by masking parts

To complete, we can link or not the display states to the configurations.

Be careful with the headache to know why the part is not displayed, if there are a lot of states and config/sub-config.

yes indeed I can hide some parts in the assembly and suddenly it won't appear in the plans, that's OK..

But I didn't want a hidden part in the assembly, but in the drawing to hide some in the front view and be able to make other views from this front view and have the same parts hidden...

Do you see the picture?

Hello

brie_frederic, display states are there for just that: you'll create two display states in your assembly:

- "defect" including your complete 3D, without hidden parts, which you will normally use,

- and "drawing" that you will use for your drawing. In this one, you'll hide the parts that you don't want to show in the drawing.

Once on your plan you will select the display state to link your view to > either the "drawing" state on which some parts are hidden, or the "default" which includes all the rooms. The views projected from this view will keep the same display state.

So if you want to hide a new part after you've done your drawing, you just have to hide the part in your 3D, on the "drawing" display state, and all of your views will have the part hidden.

With these display states you can also manage transparency, color, etc.

Hello

I think I expressed myself badly on my previous message, I didn't develop enough, The display states correspond perfectly to your need a priori.

You need to make several display states in your 3D file or you will decide whether or not to hide the parts according to your needs

From there, you can do everything, a front view with one display state, a right view with another, a top view with another etc...

By default, when you project your views from the base view, the projected views remain in the display state of the parent view.

You need to change the display state in the options for it to work, see screenshot attached

Thank you Michael for this tip; I didn't know this principle at all. It's true that it's not bad and easy to implement. Serious to you, I've evolved again!

Very nice day to all of you.
