Modeling of surface "patterns"

Hello everyone,

I am looking to develop my surfaces designed on SolideWoks.

Is it possible to set up pattern components with Solideworks 2016 Professional?

After research on the net, I have just asked the community for your perspective on all existing software and its applications.

I'm looking to make parametric surfaces, pattern components and why not add organic effects.

I know that it has 5 main categories of 3D modeling, Volumetric/Parametric/Surface/Polygonal/Sculpture. (The others?)

What is your Worksflow for this kind of work?

What software do you use and what are their strengths?

Tutorial, training  on the subject?

Rino 3d and Grasshoper 3D seem to be the most suitable....

Thank you

Hello

The goal of having predefined patterns in your rooms???

Rhino 3D can be configured without an Add-on or an add-in so I'd like to see that because it's above all a Nurbs software. The only usual parameterization is for smoothing but not to my knowledge to generate surfaces. On the other hand, with Grasshoper as an add-in, there is more possibilities.

With solidworks, parameterizing Nurbs-type surfaces will be sporty. My little comrades who are champions of the surface will tell you what is possible to do reasonably.

This subject has already been discussed in detail on the forum , it may be interesting to consult it

Yes, the goal is to have predefined patterns.

Nurbs surfaces would be what would suit me, after what are the capabilities of SW for the parameterized and then also how to create them!

The energy provided will surely be less than I trained in another software!

I didn't know this term Nurbs!; ) Thank you

Thanks for the links, and what are the names of the surface champions?! : )

Not me!!!   Guillaume

No, don't hit your head!

See if there are appearances with relief if that's what you're looking for...

Hello ac cobra

The link you give is for textures.

But I have the impression that what Guillaume wants are real 3D reliefs.

Just for the record and general knowledge of our group, photoview 360 is actually a lighter version of Modo 8, the product of Luxologie which has since become Foundry. Modo now in version 10.2 is a software that is still widely used. There is still an Add-on between MODO and Solidworks https://www.foundry.com/products/modo/addons  I still use it sometimes but less now because you can directly generate luxo files in SW. Modo does modeling a bit like Rhino but more sophisticated, especially in animation, but above all it does rendering and texturing.

Now Visualyse 2018 free software comes with SW but only for those who are in Maintenance. In fact it's an integration of Bunkspped in SW (Bunkspped would have disappeared as a software sold separately)?
