I would like to change the properties of the toolbox elements so that the right data comes out in my BOM automatically.
Has anyone ever done this?
Or do you have to create your own custom toolbox?

In SOLIDWORKS Design, click Tools > Options. On the System Options tab, click Drilling Assistance/Toolbox.
Then click configure.
In the new window, click on " Customize your material ".
To add custom properties, here are the details.

Indeed, the TOOLBOX tool is often underestimated because it requires customization to be effective.
I advise you to start from an existing standard, then copy and modify it to your liking. Add dimension, customize the designation, add number, add material, add custom properties...
To save time, you have to extract the tables, make the changes in excel, and then reimport the tables.
It's not immediate, but once you understand the process, it's done relatively well and above all you save a lot of time for the future!
