Change File Path Property

Hello

I'm looking for how to change the path of the .prtprp property file because it puts it in the old 2012 folder for my solidworks 2013

if you have watched the tutorials

http://www.lynkoa.com/tutos/3d/solidworks-le-formulaire-de-proprietes

http://www.lynkoa.com/tutos/3d/editeur-de-formulaire-solidworks

They talk about it and should not be stored in solidworks files

for the step lost them at the change of version

@ Gerald you didn't look and listen well ;-(

File Location option BOM template

When the first table is inserted, save the record path to a secure location

Above all, do not save in the default installation paths in Solidworks

If you uninstall solidworks you will lose everything (it's stupid)

Hovered the location of this corresponding document for this in the SOLIDWORKS options in File Locations Select the custom property file filter Delete the default path and then add it back to custom files You could only point to one path

from 25 mm of reading in the tutorial

Hello, you have to go to your options, then to file locations, then document templates.

You remove the template folder from the list, and you add the one you want.

Hi gt22

I have seen listen to create text files and all the toutime. But I didn't see in the tutorials this very specific point of changing the repertoire. Because in the tutorials it creates and the file is placed but if it already exists it's not the same

My setup is so that all my document templates, solder profiles and everything else are on another hard disk.

It's only this property file created in 2012 that causes me problems

moreover I uninstalled 2012 but the folder is staying

I'll try to delete the folder

See my answer! ^^

@bart

I don't have a search in C: for my documents

in option/system option/file location/custom property files

then:

custom property file and  SOLIDWORKS offers you a default path with templ/lang something like that

So you delete it because THERE CAN ONLY BE A SOURCE FILE FOR THE PERSONAL PROPERTIES

and you replace it with one of your custom files by creating a new path, which you choose elsewhere than in the default SOLIDWORKS location (otherwise your form templates will not be taken into account in future versions of SOLIDWORKS.

I learned everything with these lynkoa tutorials: here it is

@Nicolas

it's Bart's answer in longer

the tutorials yes to create modify but the selection step in option like Bart's image it is not there

Precision if like me you have different versions (2013 and 2014 on the same workstation) make the changes with the oldest

instead of document template you have to click on

CUSTOM PROPERTY FILE

as an attachment below

And that's where you click on delete  path and create another one that you save elsewhere than the default path of solidworks
