Navigating an assembly (moving inside components)

Hi all

I would like to know if on solidworks it is possible (I don't know how) to move in an assembly instead of zooming; Let me explain.

Let's say I've designed a house with 4 walls, with the zoom of the mouse wheel, you can zoom in infinitely on a wall without ever crossing it.

So I would like to know if it would be possible to navigate in this assembly as if the screen were a camera (like a video game)? And thus cross this wall at some point?

Note that I use a 3D spacemouse, hence the interest of my question.

Thanks in advance

It is possible, but with the help of a camera whose trajectory has been defined.

That's more or less what I'm trying to do.

But in fact I would like to know if it is possible for solidworks to work permanently as a virtual journey.

This function exists a little bit in the "virtual journey" display manager but it is only activated temporarily to create a video.

I'm more interested in being able to work on my assembly while being able to navigate inside it.

(For those who have the 3D spacemouse connection: like the viewer with the turbine, you can go through the blades etc...)

Hi gauden,

I may see a solution if your problem is to work inside a room, and therefore inside a hollow body. It may not necessarily suit you but I don't know anything else and it may make your job easier.

Personally, I would work in Section View by bringing my cut to the surface of the inside of a wall to be able to work inside.

But it may not answer your problem if it's more complicated...

Hello

It is possible, it is necessary:

Add a camera

choose Floating

Validate

Right-click on the new camera

Unlocking the camera

Right-click again

Camera view

And there you have it, you can go through the rooms

It seems to me that what you want is called "airplane mode" in CATIA. I admit that sometimes it's very practical. On the other hand, on solidworks I never found it!

Yoan's solution can be an alternative!

Hello

Yes, a Virtual course exists:

You can then move in a large group using the keys below:

Then record the route and make a video of it

Otherwise, you make your walls transparent and activate the "enable selection by transparency" function in "Options", "Display/selection"

Thank you yoan it's perfect it works
