Hello
I would like to know if it is possible to create separate BOMs for categories of parts, from a single assembly.
For example, a bill of materials for screws, flanges, fittings, etc. A different bill of materials for a different type of part and yet another for tubes (for example)
Thank you very much!

Hello
This is possible if each of the rooms contains a property that varies according to its type.
For the screws you can use the IsFastener variable.
You can change the IsFastener property of several SW components. See here: http://www.lynkoa.com/forum/3d/isfastener-applicable-un-ensemble
See you

Hello
There are complementary tools to SOLIDWORKS to do this, such as SmartBom from MycadService at Visiativ for example.

SmartBom will only be able to recognize one type of part from another if a variable changes. If not, he can't guess...

Re
Obviously without properties it will be complicated, but with the right templates and good library management it becomes manageable even in Excel after an export of the nomenclature.

And without the MyCADTools utility?

Hi, for me the easiest way is to make the configuration only used for the bill of materials or you only display the type of part you want

@PL: The simplest may be but the risk of errors is enormous.
@BATCH123: Once you have filled in your properties. You can sort in Excel or even directly in your table in SW.
Oh yes you mean add a column with the property, and sort it directly in the nomenclature table
I tested, it works well!
However I don't know why, it's super slow to be able to enter a custom property directly from the bill of materials (link with the part).
Do you have an idea?

Which version are you in? Sp5? Because we also had a problem of slowness at one point.

Indeed, when you leave the cell it changes the properties of the part or assembly. This takes some time...

I had already asked a similar question in mind:
