Would it be possible to break the conversion to 1080p of the posted images, please? To leave them at the native size.
When I post wallpapers that I have rendered in 4K and they are converted and degraded it's frustrating. If at least it was just the preview, but no, the downloaded file too.
Hello @Sylk , we are looking at what is possible to do, I think we had already looked and the site imposes a certain image size on us... I'll keep you informed!
Suggestion: I have a screen in portrait mode, which I use in particular to keep an eye on the browser, but with a reduced width the display is not great and could be improved. By shifting stats to show them stacked, when the width is below a certain value. As follows:
It would widen the text box, which would reduce its height, which would increase the number of visible questions. To solve the problem of the stat column headers, they will have to be invisible and possibly use mini icons (like a bubble for answers, an eye for views, and an eeg for activity) in front of the numbers. There... Note that the stats take up as much space as the text, a good part of which is in the margins...
Hi @Nicolas74 Indeed the trick is not bad, but since we are talking about it; Is it really useful for the replies and views columns to be filterable? For "activity" I can understand the potential usefulness, since it's a bit of a timestamp. If the answer is no, then perhaps a stack becomes viable by doing without these headers.
Everything works well on the new part of the site.
It's not from the floating menu of the forum but it's from myCAD (old part of the site) It's probably a problem of the end of consistency between the two technologies. In other words, it does not point to the same data. In any case it's to be settled AMHA
Would it be possible to prevent the automatic "corrector" from replacing the English quotation marks in our messages with French quotation marks?
Knowing that in Solidworks the quotation marks are English, when you enter an equation on the forum it is distorted...
In Windows, when I want to name a file with quotation marks, a forbidden character, I cunningly type 2 apostrophes to make 1 quotation mark, but on the forum it's not even possible, since even apostrophes are transformed into chevrons→ ‹ ‹ › › What works are 2 apostrophes + 1 quotation mark → "word" but not in all cases, and the poor guy who wants to copy/paste will have surprises...
1 quotation mark in front and 1 behind: "word" 2 apostrophes in front and 2 behind: ' 'word' › › 2 apostrophes in front and 1 quotation mark behind: ''word''
Edit: Another method that works better, you can also put one or more spacings between the quotation mark and the word → "word" Which at least has the advantage of being able to be copied and pasted into SW. Even with the spaces the equation is interpreted correctly, but hey, it's less consistent and uglier. And then in general, when I type "it's because I want to write".
The funniest thing is that it is precisely in English that the quotation marks have no space and in French that they do, so it is rather the opposite that should be programmed; if we put spaces → display FR quotation marks if you don't put one → display quotation marks
By going through a line of code for an equation (or code) it also works and without any other trick:
Essai avec un "mot"
And the advantage is that your equation or code comes out even better. And for the record, it's probably related to the CMS (Discourse if I'm not mistaken) and therefore not necessarily programmable at will @Sylk
Hello @sbadenis Yes I know, I had already used the code tag in some of my messages but to make sentences that mention entities several times, it's not viable.
I prefer: Do "this" and "that" and then when you see "that" do "this". That:
Fais "ceci" et "cela" puis quand tu vois "ça" fais "ci".
But in fact I realize when I want to show you that it's not viable, that by tagging only the words concerned it fits into the sentence rather than framing them on a line, as was the case before (and like your example): Do "ceci" and "cela" then when you see "ça" do "ci".
So ok, that's fine with me. Thank you. Well except that the variation of the font is not the most fortunate in this case.
Then in general I don't like French chevron quotation marks, they pollute the fluidity of sentences.
When you change your PC (because you're on vacation but you're interested in a discussion about the collective agreement, by any chance ), you need to receive an email address verification code to be able to log in. I guess that back on my usual PC, I will have to re-validate my email address? It's already really annoying to connect now, but if in addition we have to have the professional email address on hand to be able to come, it starts to seriously limit the interactions! I understand that you want to take into account the security for the whole site, patali-patala... But I think it would be really good to distinguish the forum from the more "professional / sensitive" parts!
After checking, it is possible that it comes from your spell checker! (do you have an extension installed on your PC?) because there is no corrector on this Discourse forum... I tested on my side, there is no modification to the text...
