Maybe the next one?
Hello;
Are we entitled to an additional icon also " Speech balloon "?
I couldn't find a manual on it... by the way I couldn't find a notice at all for the Forum's feature set...
Hello @Maclane
It's not a new feature dedicated to the forum, I paste my emojis in the title myself, it's not accessible from the forum...
For the forum doc we will make one soon when all the new features are in place
But I'm glad it was launched!
… I'm disappointed... Does this mean that gifts are not gifts?
Just a question why when there is code (vba) or a link, the translator translates from English while the message (without link) is in French:
Example:
Original subject of the capture:
https://forum.mycad.visiativ.com/t/complements-plug-ins/112047/4
Or see @coin37coin's message in this topic and translated differently from English to French!
" Beautiful gift my faith " becomes → " Beautiful gift too!" ???
https://forum.mycad.visiativ.com/t/mycad-by-visiativ-2025-jeu-concours/112054
… It's true that it's a pain especially when working on our " submarines " (sub and end sub) in VBA ...
Hello
Indeed, we have noticed this bug and are working on it!
I'll keep you informed as soon as it's resolved!
Yes, I don't @coin37coin either, our translator doesn't just translate but also humor apparently!
But it translates coin37coin weirdly!
In fact , @coin37coin does not seem to write in French:
I don't know what the " SM " is as a language.
What is the system based on to detect language? IP address?
It detects the language (English in the link or the vba code) for this message it's more mysterious, but I have an idea for sm, @coin37coin, did you type your message with your hands handcuffed?
Toasted by the automatic translator!
One problem with the Code tag is that it always interprets apostrophes as symbols for formatting the text of the message, which messes up the formatting (with vba-friendly colors) of the code between the tags.
And a real color code for vba would be appreciated. Even if it means giving us a way to specify the language of the code.
This translator is not very well developed.
In the application subject of a stacker, @Scofield and @A_R are recognized sometimes in French, sometimes in English
Well, it's a bit like in Word and Outlook, you probably just have to slip a word in English into the sentence for it to lose its French (or its Latin for the more educated versions).
Hello @Coralie hello l'Equipe.
Would it be possible to offer us a way to display forum messages by default in the original version, instead of systematically translating everything into one language or another? Because sometimes it's not desirable.
2 simple examples, when someone writes a pun that is only funny or makes sense in its original version, seeing it in VF first ruins everything. Or when we use jargon with terms in English, if we write it in English it's because in general, we want it to be displayed and read as such.
However, we want to be able to keep the text of the interface in French, so I submit this little request to the Team:
- Separate interface language and message language, i.e. 2 drop-down lists of identical languages, but with the addition of the " Original " choice in the list of message languages (or via another way if you have a better solution to do this).
Thank you.
The perfect solution would be for the algorithm not to translate words that are not in the language of writing, so that only the " blabla" in the sentence is translated into the original version and not the jargon in English. But for that, you may have to use AI. I mean a real AI that knows how to contextualize.
PS: Poles also deserve respect, it would be good form to capitalize their language in the list in the Preferences.
Ok, I'll @Sylk more on this subject even if I suspect that the developer only uses a translation tool without having all the data to modify how it works.
Just to test, I started this post with an English word and I think the translator will get trapped like in another topic where it was the case.
Edit: I didn't even manage to trap him! My theory falls through!
And yet here:
The translator got trapped like a bruise!
Hello @sbadenis
As for modifying the algo to make it an AI, on the other hand , adding a drop-down list with a " VO " choice is perfectly affordable, since you just have to take the function called by the " planet " button next to the Like icon, and automatically call it when a topic is opened, if the option is selected in our prefs or a more exposed list (as is the current one at the top of the page).
To summarize, I would say:
- The current forum language list, which does not change,
- Added a list for the language of messages, in which choices:
– " by default ", simply uses the language selected in the forum's language list,
– " Deutsch ",
– " English ",
– " French ",
– …
– " Dassault " (),
– " VO ", which disables the message translator.
Hi all
I understand that automatic translation is not practical in all message formats, unfortunately and after analysis by our teams this solution cannot be adjusted according to the users: the risk is that the forum is a mix of languages and is not ideal for reading posts.
We are still looking at another solution so as not to disturb your code-type messages;
At your disposal to discuss it!
Coralie
Hello;
In this case, the " least worst " would be not to systematically translate the messages, as suggested by @Sylk and plussoyé by @sbadenis , but to leave the possibility to the reader(s) to use (or not) the automatic translation button.
With why not a warning for the fields between tags... Style:
" Be careful, the automatic translator may interpret your scripts and macros in any way (Because of the submarines?)… and doesn't understand humor, inclusive writing and even less puns... »
(well something like that... )
