Hello
I'm currently in the testing phase with FARO.
I manage to open large pts clouds in E57 format using a free 10j Xtraxt3d plugin from Polyga.
Faro very expensive 50000€.
next test with BLK.
Hello
What sizes are the files you open in *. E57?
Hello
Maybe try with Scan to 3D
Hello
I think it doesn't have the same thing (more of a story of topo points)
3.18GB
Scan to 3D not suitable for very large clouds of pts, clearly not made for that.
and SolidWorks not crashing and it's smooth?
Yes with the plugin it's perfect, it's in test 10 days I invite you to try.
10 days? I'm coming to test a 1.2GB file, it's perfect, I'm going to test on a file of about 50GB. be continued
Free 10 days.
I seemed to have read the maximum file size 4.7GB.
otherwise there is also
Veesus
No limitations and accepts E57, RCP, RCS, PTX, PTS formats after quick conversion.
but I couldn't download.
Hello @OBI_WAN
The download works from this page: https://www.veesus.com/support/
You have to click on "Download" then choose the target OS and select Point Clouds for Solidworks.
the direct link for Win64:
https://www.veesus.com/downloads/software/Veesus_Solidworks_Installer.exe
May the Force be with you.
@Sylk
thank you I try it within the week.
I have contacted BLK, I will keep you informed of the progress.
May the force be with you.
Hello
I just tried with Extract3d an E57 file of 4.8gb it's okay it works but I had a 20gb file it didn't pass.
Hello
@obiwan, a return of BLK budget and efficiency?
A colleague also inquires, with a Matterport scanner.
Precision announced 2-3mm, envelope of about 10000€ in total (without software for SW)
Obtaining xyz or e57 file.
With scanto3D we obtain a point cloud that is unusable as it is. It seems possible to create curve points on points of the 3D cloud to measure for example, but without color, which is difficult to find your way in the cloud. Test during surface transformation, on the file transmitted by the supplier (2.73GB)
With Veesus not managing to open the e57.
With Xtract3D point cloud opening with image, you can create a sketch point on a point in the point cloud for measuring.
Bjr @sbadenis
At home for the moment it's on a break considered too expensive.
otherwise here is the offer.
Indeed, at this price, the subject would not be published in France either.
We'll continue to dig for the matterport pro3.
Matterport Comparison:
A test that confirms that the visual seems better with pro3 than with a leica BLK360:
On the other hand, in terms of precision and ease, no idea.
Here is an online model:

I would like to make it clear that I have no share in any of these companies!
Soon a trip to the site in L'Etranglé is scheduled (8 hours by plane) so we may just try a rental.
