Hello I want to design a walkway with a 45° tube. The cross-section will be determined via RDM 7 calculation that I master for beam calculation. On the other hand, no value for 45° square tubes So I'm going to the random section and I need help to fill in the last values and remove a doubt: Quadratic Moment: Iz(cm4) and let the Wel.z[cm3] Or Top Fiber: vy_sup[mm] and lower vy_inf[mm] image of RDM7
Simply create a flat surface representing the section, then select it and request the section's properties from the " Evaluate " page of the order manager.
A special feature of the square section with rounded corners is that it has two systems of orthogonal symmetrical axes (in green and orange). The quadratic moments are the same in both systems, so whether the cross-section is oriented at 0° or 45°.
I didn't remember how I got this value 2-3 years ago. I was stubborn with mass property when it is indeed a section... For your information, if welded construction, you just have to select the section at the end of the profile and then in the evaluate tool, property of the section and the results are identical (it's better) to the method via a flat surface of @m.blt For the vy_sup or inf of RDM6 or RDM7 here is the info from the doc:
