Office365 and Solidworks 2017

Hello

I have just been installed with the office365 pack on my computer, so update of the excel version. Since then, I have not been able to open the excel tables linked to my parts families. I managed to do this by opening excel beforehand, but when I closed the SW crashing file, I had to close everything via the task manager!

Is there any configuration to be made under SW2017?

See the compatibility of Sw and excel on the attached link.

In my opinion your version is too recent and not compatible. All that remains is to uninstall and reinstall a compatible version.

Thank you sbadenis, but I like to be able to... I feel that they will like IT :) :) :)

I'm leaving the post open in case someone has an answer, let's say more... Positive!

Hello

Solidworks 2017 works with the Office 365 Pack (that's what I have on my PC) but it seems to me that you have to install the Office Pack first and then Solidworks.

Kind regards

Several versions of Office 365 are available.

What version of excel is used?

File/account then about excel and look at the version. (click on the ? to see the version with the year)

Version 1810

Semi-Annual Channel Version 1803 (Build 9126.2295), updated October 9, 2018 (see HERE).

Kind regards

If we believe what is written here, then sbadenis could well be right... And then, it may not be too funny for a lot of people!!

Kind regards

Be careful not to confuse Version with year, we are in version 2016 but build 1810 as well.

You have to click on about excel (circle in red) to see the year (see attached image)

I have always faced the difficulty of installing Office 365 2017 on OS Linux.

so that's exactly what I have: Microsoft Excel for Office 365 MSO (16.0.11001

20064) 32-bit

Hello

From the Solidworks Knowledge Base:

Does SOLIDWORKS® software support the use of the Microsoft® Office 365® software?

Yes and No. The Microsoft® Office 365® software uses the software as a service (SaaS) subscription model. This means that Office 365 includes the most recent versions and updates of Office applications. Because Office 365 is always the latest version of Office applications, there will be periods of time when the SOLIDWORKS software does NOT support Office 365. These periods of time will be temporary, while support for the new versions of Office applications is validated and published on the SOLIDWORKS System Requirements page (https://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/SystemRequirements.html).

As of September 24, 2018, the Office 365 software includes Office 2019 applications. As of this date, no versions of SOLIDWORKS® applications support Office 2019, and you may encounter problems with the various functions that use Excel functionality (design tables, equations, etc.). Support for Office 2019 is planned for a service pack of SOLIDWORKS 2019.

Basically not compatible for the moment on the 2018/2019 version so 2017 even less luck. After that, it's the lottery like any software/driver not certified compatible by Solidworks.

Hello

Well after contacting SW support the information from @d.roger and @Cyril.f is confirmed.

For the moment no solution, the problem has been reported to the publisher...

However, it seems that by first opening Excel you can still access the parts families to modify them.

Thank you all
