Performance tab

Hello everyone.

I suddenly have a doubt about the use in the Solidworks options on the "Performance" tab.

To have a minimum of veneers on my round surfaces, do I need to:

Put the cursor under More (slower) or all the way to the right? (or it is marked Minus (Faster))

Generally, a slider gives the mini to the left and the max to the right...

I tried both positions but I don't see the difference on the screen.

Thank you and have a good week.

Hello

In performances:
First notch on the left = off.
Second notch on the left = maximum
Last notch on the right = minimum

You have to see the logic of these sliders as "max performance on the right".

But for facets, it happens in the Image Quality tab of the document properties. In which, the minimum number of facets is the first notch on the left, and the maximum on the right (red area).

Thanks Sylk.  But I don't see that in the view properties of the document.

It seemed to me that in my old Solidworks 2014, this setting was in the options. But I may be wrong.

I meant in Doc Image Quality, not Display, sorry. I correct.

Sorry for the delay, I was absent.

I don't understand... Quality of the document... Where's that?

What I'm looking for is the setting that allows you to have a minimum of facets on a cylinder, a curve. This has a huge impact on the 3D printing results.

Thank you

Hello @viking

I allow myself to say something stupid if you allow it.

For me, there is no correlation between the thinness of the screen display and the Printer3D output file! Indeed, your . SLDPRT will be transformed into STL or STEP or even retransformed again by the printer's software.

It's more on the printer file side that you should look for.

In addition, it depends on the printing technique with very large gaps in powder sintering and wire extrusion. It all depends on the actual machine and the pre-processing before printing.

Kind regards

For display facetization: Tools > Options > System Options tab > Performance > "Go to Image Quality" button

or: Tools > Options > Document Properties tab > Image Quality

But since it's for exporting to a 3D model: Tools > Options > System Options tab > Export > File format: STL or 3MF

Thank you both. It seemed to me that the image quality was reflected in the facets visible on the print. But as I had seen this several years ago. For export, no worries, I've been 3D printing  for quite some time.

Good luck.
