Shape tool (stamping) modifiable in context?

Hello, I'm trying to find out if a form of stamping can be modified, therefore parametric.

When I insert a shape on my sheet metal part, I can't change its dimensions. To get around the problem I created several configurations of my shape in different sizes, but it's necessarily very limited.

I manage to edit my odds, enter an equation, but in the end it is not taken into account.

Hello Fabrice_Coulonnier,
I just found this video =>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y40bMT3BTEU
Maybe it can help you.
Good luck, @+.

Thank you for your answer.
Not in this video, I'm looking in others on the same channel.
Very informative by the way! :+1: Thank you!

There's no reason..., indeed I don't practice stamping too much,...
Good luck and have a good day.

Hello

I had the same problem with configurations and a shape tool.
I had an error message that the shape tool cannot have a config.

Can we have an example of your piece to test it?

Hello;
It is important to distinguish between the dimensions of the shape tool (often read-only) and the dimensions of the resulting shape... This may explain why your changes are not taken into account, paying attention to external references.

See some tutorials:

Here is an example with the . Related SLDFTP:
Pièce102.rar (686.3 KB)

I'm correcting myself, it's not the configurations that he doesn't digest, it's the external references

Thanks MacLane, I'll take a closer look at this, I'm having trouble understanding where the read-only dimension is managed or not.

I wasn't talking so much about the dimension as I was about the shapefile *. SLDFTP

You could provide it in 2022 or earlier

@FRED78: unfortunately no, I'm in the 2025 version and I can only generate 2023 at best.

No worries

Hello,

I may not have understood the question, but I have no problem changing the dimensions of the stamped shape from the part.
Including using equations.
Note that on my PC, the tool file is in a folder accessible by read/write... Is this the origin of the problem?

Wouldn't it just be a parameter for updating assemblies (on request or otherwise)?

@m_blt
I just watched your video
THE problem with updating is not with the tool itself, but when the tool is used in a room.
THERE I had an update problem

It is on the part that I make these changes in dimensions...

Have you remembered to uncheck the link to the shape tool?:
image

=> If checked: The library part is " Master " and the changes made to the part will have no effect (External references Tool => Part).
=> And/or the tool file (*. SLDFTP) is read-only, so you can't change the values...

Thanks MacLane, indeed that's right, ' Link to shape tool' should be unchecked.
I wasn't vigilant at the time!
