Indeed, the operating process differs between the 2021 and 2022 versions.
However, this change is not a regression but an evolution made to avoid having erroneous drawings.
When you create sheet metal body drawings with the SheetMetalManufacturing tool, you also create a flat-pattern in 3D. Therefore, if your files are in a PDM vault, the files need to be checked out in order to be modified.
On the 2021 version, the processing worked when your files already had the " Flat-Pattern " configuration. On files that did not have this configuration, and by having " canceled " during the " save-as " message, the drawings were necessarily wrong as you can see in the attached video.
To avoid the risk of having erroneous files, we decided to secure the tool by prohibiting processing on read-only files. In addition, we are in the process of evolving for the management of PDM files via myPDMtools :
First of all, on the 2020 and 2021 versions, the creation of a sheetmetal file does not generate an erroneous file if it has the Flat Pattern function without being extracted.
As you demonstrate in your video, your file has a problem when reopening because your sheet metal parts do not have the Flat Pattern function and therefore it will be recovered.
On the other hand, extract a complete assembly, which is archived and approve in the pdm this little caused problems of indexing because used at the same time by several collaborators on different cases.
I will send you the video of this operation as soon as possible.
