Automatic opening of 3D from 2D

Hello

Is there an option to automatically load the 3D file when I open a drawing file in SW?

In the same principle as external references for assemblies.

Thank you in advance.

I didn't understand the question

You have a Create and  Named drawing

you want a direct link to open the 3D when you open it?

See this link

http://www.lynkoa.com/forum/3d/lien-fichier-mise-en-plan-fichier-piece

If I understand correctly, just left-click once on one of the views, a small bar will open.
Then click on the small icon "open room" (see image)

Not to my knowledge...

But right-click on the room in your view and you can directly open the linked room.

It's really fast ;-)

Hello

if you want to open a drawing from a room just press Ctrl+D and to open the room from the drawing you just have to left-click on the view and open the room.

otherwise, if they have the same name and location, you select both and open. But it's not automatic since you have to select them correctly.

But the option to open the room from the mep as indicated by bart and max59 is perhaps the easiest...

@manu, CTRL+D? it doesn't work for me

We have put in place shortcuts and I think this is one of them. Here they are

I think this keyboard shortcut doesn't exist as standard, you have to point to create a drawing:

On the other hand, for it to be a bit "automatic", the part and the plan must be in the same folder, in this specific case, SOLIDWORKS offers to open the drawing rather than creating a new one

Hello

While this applies to lightweight components in drawings (and the goal is to load them into memory) as well as for assemblies, the options are only for assemblies and not for drawings.

Proof:

So it's not possible.

If it's to really open the files, then a small macro is possible, but it may extend the opening time! For a huge part file, it would be discouraged, so we could put a small dialog box to confirm that the user really wants to open the drawing files.
