Opening a file in a higher version

Hello

I modeled a part in the 2013 version of SW and when I want to open it in the 2018 version, I have a problem.

Where is the problem?

It seems that you have a problem with the link to your external reference file (red cross on 1st line).

I'm on SW2019.

I loaded your file and when it opens it asks me this: "Open referenced external documents".

So I chose to "Don't open any referenced document" and it works perfectly.

There is just a "?" at the end of the line "parting line G... " because I don't have access to your external reference. But all of them work.

Otherwise, you can try breaking the external references before saving. The problem with this method is that you lose all links with the starting part. So if you change it, the changes won't follow in this file.

I hope I have been clear enough...

Right-click on the function and then "Edit".

PS: I'm finishing some welds (from my mouse wires, no mechanic :p) and I'm testing your part in SW2020.

When it opened, he didn't ask me anything, so I can't choose. Is it the attached capture you're talking about?

I have this window when I open your file (see link).

The window you show me is the one to break the links with external references. Be careful, if you click on "break everything", you lose all the links to the piece that served as your model. So if you later modify your model, you won't see it in this room.

I tried all 3 options, they all work... Your room opens up very well at my house.

Not being able to reproduce the defect, I will not be of much help.

For my part, I have the same message as @a.eriaud at the opening. Indeed it opens but when I want to edit it it informs me that the database is not found:

If I open the room like on the capture, it goes badly

and if I go through a copy made on the desk, it goes better in the sense that when I open it it asks me to look for a part, if I make it look and find it, it goes badly,
