Opening STEP file

no it doesn't change anything, I can't open them...

I think I'll try to reinstall slw

Make a repair first!

Which version of Sw are you in?

I'm in 2014, how do you proceed for the repair, I don't know?

To repair the installation:

  1.  In Windows Vista or later, click Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features. In earlier versions of Windows, click Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs .
  2. Select the version of SolidWorks that failed and click Edit.

    The SolidWorks Installation Manager starts.

  3. On the Welcome screen, click Repair Individual Installation (on this computer), and then click Next.
  4. Select the products that have not been installed or removed and click Repair .

have no improvement....

:-(

I rummaged a little on the net and there is an answer that can be the solution here: http://www.leguide3d.com/profiles/blogs/pourquoi-solidworks-choue-lors-de-l-importation-d-un-step-iges

Basically, to sum up, it can come from the default templates whose link could have been accidentally broken...

SW therefore does not find the model to open the WWTP and makes a mistake...

I have no idea if it works or not but it may be a lead.

EDIT: On the other hand for the export in STEP which creates a non-usable file, no idea, sorry

Good luck in any case
